Exploring passions and building character through student involvement

91% of UMEI students are involved in extracurricular opportunities.
Extracurricular activities and involvement are a cornerstone of the UMEI experience. At UMEI, we encourage all students to engage in activities that reflect their passions, helping them grow and build on their unique gifts and talents. Our staff exemplifies servant leadership, following the example of Jesus in serving others and fostering a supportive, community-centered environment. Through these opportunities, students are empowered to lead with humility, compassion, and purpose.

Beyond Academic Success

Colleges, universities, and employers increasingly recognize that success isn't measured by grades alone. They're looking for students who know how to lead, collaborate, communicate, solve problems, manage their time, and contribute to their communities. Through athletics, clubs, the arts, student leadership, and service opportunities, UMEI students develop these skills every day.

Our graduates consistently tell us that being involved at UMEI prepared them well for life after high school.
They arrive on campus confident in balancing academics with extracurricular commitments, stepping into leadership roles, and building connections with others. It's one of the reasons UMEI graduates are known not only for what they know, but for who they are becoming.
