Equipping Students to Serve with Purpose

UMEI Is Built on a Foundation of Christlike Service
One of the most important components of a UMEI Christian education is active service in the community to create doers of the Word. UMEI students learn early on that the world does not revolve around them. Our students are taught, through the example of Christ, what it means to go out and wash others' feet.

Service in the Community
Community service and servant leadership is built into the UMEI curriculum through 2 annual service project days, as well as specific courses and clubs. We partner with dozens of organizations, including:

-
Leamington Regional Food Hub
-
The Hospice of Windsor & Essex County
-
Southwest Ontario Gleaners
-
Thrift on Mill
-
South Essex Community Council
-
The Bridge Youth Resource Centre
-
Leamington Mennonite Home
-
St. Vincent de Paul

UMEI grads average 124 community hours, more
than triple the requirement.

Programming for Kids
UMEI students volunteer with a number of programs for kids. We offer Robotics Mini, designed for kids in Grades 1-3 to explore coding; Camp ExploreU and Robotics and Musical Theatre summer camps; Discovery Day and Experience Day; and are expanding our outreach to local Christian elementary school and homeschool students.

When I see these young people working hard, it gives me hope for the future.
