A school Where Investment Meets Purpose

The choice to attend UMEI Christian High School includes a financial investment in the education of your child. UMEI is a nonprofit organization and committed to making our educational programming available to all families who desire a UMEI Christian education.

We Believe Christian Education Should Be Accessible

We recognize that every family's financial situation is unique. That's why we strive to make a UMEI education as accessible as possible, and never want finances to stand in the way of your child attending UMEI. We encourage every family to start the conversation—many are surprised to learn that a UMEI education may be more attainable than they expected.

We hear it all the time—‘we could never afford that.’ But when you see the growth in your child, you realize it’s not just a cost—it’s an investment.

We never thought UMEI would be financially possible for our family—but with tuition assistance, it was. And it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made for our child.

Scholarships and Bursaries for Returning Students

UMEI Christian High School awards over $15,000 in scholarships and bursaries returning students every year who have shown strong work ethic, servant leadership, and a sense of community.

These awards are presented at graduation each year.

Here are a few of the unique scholarships and bursaries we award our returning and graduating students.

  • This award, offered by the Essex Animal Hospital, recognizes passion for the study of the branches of science at UMEI: biology, physics, and chemistry. The winning candidate will be continuing his/her studies in science at the university/college level.

  • This award, given in memory of Dean Tiessen, is awarded to a student whose inquisitive nature is exemplified by a love of learning in all aspects of school and life. This award is presented to a deserving student who has a strong work ethic, who has a passion for learning and who goes the extra mile to get answers.

  • This award is given in memory of John Klassen, a graduate of 1973. UMEI was a large part of John’s life and he remained a strong supporter of the school throughout his lifetime. This award is given to a current Grade 9-11 student who demonstrates a sense of UMEI community; a team player who is respectful of others and wants to lend a helping hand wherever possible.

  • This award seeks to foster a spirit of generosity in students. This person must demonstrate a personal spirit of generosity in identifiable practical ways. This award is shared equally between the student and a charity of his/her choice.
